Demanding armchair construction made of plywood lined with oak veneer. The armchair was made for an architect, who provided us with a series of photorealistic drafts and sketches of the project he to be implemented. It was a multi-dimensional project, as in addition to the construction, the staticity of the armchair had to be studied so that it would be fully functional. The study was carried out at our workshop, since this piece of furniture had never been built before, thus in fact it's a prototype. It is a purely geometric piece of furniture, created by corners joined together by two parallel surfaces, which are also the structural elements of the furniture, namely the back and the seat. The chair is made of plywood, which is internally reinforced to distribute the force loads on the corners, in case somebody attempts to sit on it. All the corners of the furniture are rounded and were created with special cutting tools. After the final form of the armchair was given and all its individual parts were glued together, it was time to to be veneer lined. The veneer grains flow along the entire perimeter of the structure, both on the inner corners and the outer ones. Then the recesses for the cushions on the back and seat of the armchair were manufactured, the cushions were filled with specific foam and white cotton upholstery fabric coming in "herringbone" weave. The construction was finished with acrylic varnish matte (non yellowing).
