Design and construction of a medal for the Larissa Dance Open 2018 competition. The main body of the medal is made of Iroko wood where woodworking techniques have been applied. The top of the medal is in black plexiglass that has been laser cut and engraved, the logo of the competition. The medal lets out the sense of natural beauty as it combines two contrasting materials in a unique way. Wood, with its natural warmth and its unique grains, representing the authenticity and organicity of dance. While on the other hand, plexiglas adds a modern touch, expressing the innovation and progressiveness that characterizes dancing.
