Design and construction of an illuminated sign for The Brothers House. In this project our goal was to build a sign of vintage aesthetic. The materials we used for the construction are a combination of plywood and solid oak timber. The sign consists of two oak wood rings, which were made using the segmented wood technique. This particular technique gives both robustness to the construction and also aesthetic elegance. The logo was laser cut on plywood lined with smoked oak veneer. The logo was designed and shaped in an offset perimeter to allow light to diffuse through the white plexiglass glued on its back. Waterproof warm-colored, outdoor led tape was used for lighting. The sign was finished with an outdoor glaze as it is going to be hung on the shop front.
