Wooden Anniversary Emblem

Design and construction of wooden anniversary emblem for HAF

In this challenging project we were assigned to design and create a wooden anniversary emblem. After we received the redesigned anniversary badge for the 30th anniversary of the 330 Air Forces Military unit, we decided to produce something striking so that we could highlight this anniversary. The Idea that was chosen for the anniversary emblem was to render it in 3D through wood layering. For the back of the memorial emblem we used mdf wood, black coloured which acts as canvas. After deconstructing the logo we chose to use our laser cutter for the basic procedure. Laser engraving and laser cutting are the basic techniques , on plywood , for the individual elements that make up the emblem. We pricesely reproduced both the thunderbolt and the eagle, which is the key element of the construction since it is the emblem of 330 squadron. Its number appears in a two-tone black and gold so that the thirty years celebrated could easily distinguished. The whole project was depicted and structured on one large-sized piece which was placed on the squadron. In addition, individual commemoratives were reproduced which were given away to the attendees. The product was finished with black and gold colour paints and non yellowing acrylic glazes (matte). It has a hidden hanging hook on its back appropriate for wall mounting.
