In this project , a solid walnut root herbal case was designed and handcrafted . The box top was built by means of the traditional Japanese kumiko technique, in which the wood pattern is created without nailings. The pieces of wood are shaped and handcrafted appropriately by using various traditional carpentry tools. Our source of inspiration is the asanoha pattern for this specific application. Inside the construction, separate cases have been formed to hold a variety of herbs.
